Vali

IMG_7842.jpgVali is small village where JJVS originated. It is 50 km away from the Udaipur city and a majority of its population are farmers and tribal people. The entire economy of Vali depends upon agriculture and livestock. The field office is a 3000sq.ft constructed area with four residential rooms and a training hall with computer facilities, there is also a small herbal nursery onsite. Through this field unit we are working with 30 villages in the areas:

•    Strengthening self help group established
•    Dairy development
•    Strengthening National Rural Employment Guarantee act
•    Promotion of self governance
•    Community issues:  Mining and Industrial pollution; Forest right act, 2006

Jaisamand

JIMG_8417.jpgaisamand is small village that is 50 km away from the Udaipur city. Jaisamand is known for Asia’s second largest man made fresh water lake. The office building has four residential rooms and a community meeting hall with computer facilities. JJVS operates its field activities in 30 tribal villages for:

•    Strengthening self help group and Federation established
•    Microfinance
•    Promotion of sustainable agriculture and livelihood opportunity
•    Soil and Water conservation programme
•    Community issues:  Jaisamand lake water distribution; Forest right act, 2006

Dhariawad

Dhariawad is a big town and development block headquarter which is 150 km away from the Udaipur city and 60 Kms from its district Pratapgarh. The office building has one residential and an admin room. Dhariyawad is tribal dominated area with rich forest diversity where JJVS operates its field activities in 20 villages for:

•    Strengthening self help group established
•    Collection & Marketing of Minor forest produce for livelihood
•    Soil and Water conservation programme
•    Community issues:  Forest right act, 2006
•    Grass root level strengthening of Panchyati Raj Institutions

Kurabar

Kurabar is a small village that is 45 km away from the Udaipur city. On this site, JJVS has established the Guni Ashram – a centre for research and promotion of traditional system of medicines. Due to a need identified within the local community, this building is now being used as the Jagran Gurukal Primary School. Also on the 3600 sq.ft property there is a Guni Clinic and 4.5 hectare of agriculture land where different related activities are being implemented:

•    Ethno – Medico -Forestry park
•    Centralized Nursery of Medicinal plants
•    Raw herbal drug processing and manufacturing unit
•    Guni treatment centre
•    Guni medicines bank
•    Jari – Buti (Medicinal plants) seed bank

Guni Ashram

The Guni Ashram has around 133 species of medicinal plant displaying detail information like botanical name, local uses and other related information on conservation and propagation. A demo gardens developed to classifying in disease wise formulation base; plant habit like tree, shrubs, grasses, climbers, etc. for mass education and awareness.
