Impact Story of Chansda Gram Panchayat

Unlined channel was used for irrigation in Kharva and Jhali ka guda revenue villages. The farm lands around the canal faced the problems of water seepage, water logging, the salinity of the soil was increasing which was impacting the agricultural yield of the region. Apart from this farm lands in the tail part of the channel were deprived of water for irrigation.

Jagran did the lining of the channel for 7km long, 2 feet wide and 3 feet deep. Due to this intervention 350 families got sufficient water for irrigation. Almost all the farmers could go for double cropping due to availability of sufficient water. The imminent issues of water logging, water seepage & increasing soil salinity were resolved. Data for this intervention was derived by creating a technical micro-plan for gram panchayat of chansda.
